My Trip to Nigeria - Sokoto
July 24, 2017
My name is Keanen, right now I am on a plane to Nigeria. I am headed to Sokoto Nigeria. Right now it is 4:47pm in Sokoto Nigeria. I get to nigeria at 5:00pm I rented a jeep. I get to my hotel it costs 37 bucks for my room. I went to a restaurant called the Beebee restaurant their food was so good. It was fast food chinese food. I went to bed at 9:15pm.
I had a good night’s rest at the Sokoto Guest Inn. This hotel looks very pretty with a white and red trim. It looks like an apartment building, it’s actually a hotel. I had a scrumptious breakfast of Lentils Porridge. I wanted it again. After eating I really wanted to go shopping.
I got to the AGG Shopping Mall at 10 am West African time which is 3 am Central Time. I bought a shirt and it said ‘Nigeria’ on it. I bought matching shirts for my mom, sister, and father, and a little shirt for my pug. I also bought a toy motorcycle for me. It was a fun trip to Sokoto.
My Trip to Nigeria - Kano
I drove my rented Jeep to Kano, Nigeria. It took 6 hours and now I’m going to find a hotel because I’m tired from driving. I’m going to take a nap. I stayed at the Prince Hotel. I took a nap and woke up at 9 am and then went to the pool. It was so sunny, when I looked on my phone it said it was 85 degrees. This is pretty normal temperature.
I swam at the pool for 2 hours and then went to lunch. I went to lunch at the Corner cafe and ate the Arabian Grilled Chicken and some water. It’s the best of the best, 5 star cafe with delicious chicken. There was a lot of other people but I got there before it got too busy. The waiters were friendly and I enjoyed the food. If any of you visit Kano, I would recommend this restaurant.
After lunch I went to the Gidan Makama Museum. I saw these really cool houses that are traditional houses of the Hausa Fulani, it was great! The museum’s tour guide I had was very good. His name was Mike.Mike is a common name in Nigeria. I wish I could take pictures to show all you guys but the museum doesn’t allow it. You’ll just have to go and see for yourself!
My Trip to Nigeria-Obudu
I am staying in the Obudu Nigeria. Obudu is very hilly. It’s very lush green. It can get really misty foggy there, especially up in the Sankwala mountains. I was a wearing a jacket because it was 45 degrees. I’d rather be inside because it’s so cold. I was surprised it was cold in Africa on July 24th because in Minnesota it’s the hottest time of the year. In Obudu it’s the coldest.
I got a hotel room at Obudu Cattle Ranch. It’s on the Obudu Plateau which is up in the mountains. It was cold and rainy. I took a ride in a cable car and it was scary and cool. Because it was cool because I got to go so high and it was scary because it was so high! The view was so cool.
I went to a restaurant called the Terrace Restuarant in the Obudu Cattle Ranch. I wanted to go to the water park, but it was too cold. I went back to my hotel room and took a nap. After my nap I played golf. It was fun, it was my first time and I would play it again.
My Trip to Nigeria- Lagos
Lagos is my last stop in Nigeria. It’s a super big city and it has over 14 million people living in it. It wasn’t as foggy as Obudu, wasn’t as high altitude, and it was warmer. There was a lot more people there. It was near the ocean not as close to the mountains as Obudu.
I’m staying at the Best Western Island Hotel. It cost $99. After I checked I went to the Bar Beach to swim. I could see the beach from my hotel room. I was on the top floor with a super good view. It was very busy and I saw a man riding a horse. I was wearing my swimsuit the water was cold at first but the sun felt warm. After a few seconds the water didn’t feel so cold.
After I dried off I went to my hotel room and changed into my regular clothes. Then I went to the National Museum of Lagos and saw the Political History section. I went to the art section and I was disappointed because the lights weren’t very bright. The wood and bronze artwork looked so cool! My favorite part was seeing the art section.
